What it does
Event Editor changes the reel, clip name and four timecode fields of one event. Source In and Out describe the media range. Record In and Out describe where that range sits in the edited sequence. Out points are exclusive: a cut ending at frame 100 does not include frame 100.
When and why to use it
Use it for a specific conform correction: a wrong reel name, a source offset on one shot, or an edit boundary that needs a known adjustment. Reviewing the event as four related fields is easier than searching for isolated numbers in a long text file.
A practical example
A shot starts one frame too early in the source, but its record position is correct. Advance Source In and Source Out by one frame. The selected media changes; the edit duration and its position in the sequence do not.
How to use it
- Select an event in the table, then open Event Editor.
- Change the relevant fields using the document’s displayed frame rate and DF/NDF mode.
- Changes appear in the working result as you type. Review the complete batch in Side-by-Side, then approve or approve and export.
What to check before a handoff
For a normal cut, source and record durations must match. Changing only one boundary can make them differ. Invalid and skipped DF labels are rejected. This editor changes edit-list instructions; it does not trim or render media.
