Make the handoff easier.
A list can be almost right: the cuts are there, but the reel names need cleaning, the source timecodes need an offset, or the destination needs a different format. These are the jobs EDL Toolbox brings into one focused workspace.
The scope is EDL, editing XML and AAF video interchange: inspect the events, choose an operation, review the result and export a usable list. It is built around the details that matter when a timeline moves between people and applications.
Built around the work.
Editorial
Clean comments, compare event lists and prepare an edit for the next department.
Color & conform
Review reel names, source timing and record positions before matching an edit to media.
VFX
Inspect source ranges, split lists and organize the edit information needed for a handoff.
Scanning & telecine
Work with reel-based source lists, adjust timecodes and report source usage.
A clear path from file to result.
- Work in your browser. No installation or operating-system-specific utility. Open an EDL, XML or AAF, or explore an included sample.
- See what will change. Compare the imported source with the live result of all chosen operations. Review their order, approve the complete batch and export from Side-by-Side. Undo restores the previous approved state.
- Keep timing explicit. Playback FPS and DF/NDF numbering are separate settings. Multitrack XML and AAF exports keep each selected video track in its own EDL.
- Keep file processing local. Your edit-list contents are processed in this browser and are not uploaded to a server. Working edits stay in this tab’s memory, so export before reloading or closing it.
A focused set of supported workflows.
The current app covers the core edit-list tools and a defined subset of EDL/XML interchange and AAF video and audio interchange. More complex timeline structures need further development. The Formats page describes what is supported today.
Start with a list you know.
Open a file or try a sample, choose a tool and inspect the result. Your working file stays open when you move between Tools, Formats, Guides and About in this tab.
